Second Call for Papers - AFRES CONFERENCE 2008

The 8th African Real Estate Society (AfRES) Annual Conference will be held at the Eskom Conference Centre in Johannesburg/South Africa from 13-15 August 2008.

The conference theme is "Developing Real Estate Markets in Africa".

The conference will provide an international forum for researchers and practitioners from developed and developing countries. We will explore real estate issues with relevance to developing countries in Africa. We are keen to explore global lessons learnt that can assist in developing effective property markets across the continent.

The conference encourages the submission of papers on topics such as:

• Property Law /Policy and Taxation
• The development of Real Estate Markets
• Commercial and residential Real Estate markets and Practice
• Property Finance and Economics, " Education and Professional Development
• Land issues and the environment
• Information and Real Estate markets
• Housing and sustainable development
• The Real Estate Institutional Environment
• National and city real estate market Trends
• Academic lectures around the theme of developing real Estate Markets.

The following deadlines apply:

• Abstracts (200 words maximum): 30 January 2008
• Notification of acceptance: 29 February 2008
• Submission of completed paper: 30 April 2008
• Notification of Acceptance: 31 May 2008
• Submission of final paper: 30 June 2008

Authors should submit their abstracts electronically preferably in MS Word format, no later than 30 February 2008. All papers will be blind refereed
