La première conférence, pendant laquelle la société immobilière de l'Afrique (AfRES) a été formée, a pris place à Johannesburg en 1997. En total, 17 participants étaient présents. Voici sont quelques participants pendant le dîner formel.

En 1998, la deuxième conférence s'est déroulée à Johannesburg, conjointement avec South African Property Information Exchange (SAPIX) et Investment Property Databank (IPD). Le nombre des participants était 35.

Pendant 1999 et 2000, trois séminaires ont été organises par AfRES, notamment sur des investissements dans immeubles, sujets parastatals et investissements généraux en Mozambique.

En Octobre 2001, la troisième conférence a eu lieu à Arusha, Tanzanie. Elle a été organisée conjointement avec l'institution des experts et agents immobiliers tanzaniens (TIVEA) et RICS. La photo montre quelques des 177 participants.
